Enabling a Better Future, One Stitch at a Time



In Galle, a resilient widow and mother of two faced the daunting challenge of providing for her family with limited resources. As the sole breadwinner, she struggled to earn a stable income while ensuring her children’s wellbeing.


At AFI Corp, we believe in empowering individuals to create sustainable livelihoods through our flagship CSR initiative AFI Cares, aligning with our commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including but not limited to, lifting families out of economic struggles (SDG 1: No Poverty), empowering women to thrive independently (SDG 5: Gender Equality) and creating dignified work opportunities (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth).


For our recent AFI Cares project, we stepped in to offer meaningful and sustainable support to this widow, providing her with a sewing machine so she can launch a tailoring business from home, earning a steady income to support her children and break the cycle of financial hardship.


At AFI Cares, we believe in creating lasting impacts by empowering individuals and communities across Sri Lanka with the knowledge, tools and resources to transform their lives. Each project is more than just an act of charity, it is a creation of a pathway to sustainable change.
