Celebrating Ramadan with the town of Kaleliya 

In honor of the month of Ramadan, afi facilitated and organized, with the help of the townspeople, an ifthar celebration. Held at the Al Masjidhul Subuhani mosque in Kaleliya, Gampaha. The event was held on the 27th fast of the holy month of Ramadan, considered to be one of the holiest days of the month for Muslims. Over 630 people attended the celebration. 

Helping School-Going Children in Need with Books and Stationery 

Education is the foundation for a bright future and every child has a right to an education. Unfortunately, many children struggle to keep up at school, not having access to the essentials they need. It is in in this setting that afi donated essential books and stationery to school-going children in need at Al-Hidhaya Maha Vidyalaya, Colombo. 

Lifting Up Spirits at the Methodist Elders’ Home 

The afi staff visited the Methodist Elders’ Home in Colombo 5, spending quality time with the residents and engaging in enjoyable activities to lift up the residents’ spirits. The team also donated much-needed equipment to the home. 

Afi Spends the Day at Sambodhi Children’s Home 

The Sambodhi Children’s Home in Galle houses differently-abled persons who were taken in as children. The afi team spent the day with the residents, playing and singing in companionship. The residents and staff of the home were provided with three full meals as well as toys and stationery items as requested by the home.
